His music has been licensed and used on Duck Dynasty, Music City, animated shows, and reality shows. He is responsible for composing theme songs and original music for Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History Podcast, Pullitzer Prize winner Jake Halpern’s Deep Cover “El Man” and “Mobland” Podcast, People I (Mostly) Admire, What’s Your Problem with Jacob Goldstein (formerly of Planet Money), and A Slight Change of Plans, and for Freakonomics Radio.

Luis found creativity through music at the young age of 4 when he started playing drums. At 17, he moved to Austin, Texas to pursue music. As an instrumentalist, he worked with musical luminaries including Patty Griffin, Mose Alison, Money Mark, and Tosca Tango. As a composer, he has written music for Malcolm Gladwell, Freakonomics, Apple, and Ring City. He has scored films, including the indie favorite “18½” and “Bernard and Huey.” His work has taken him into remote parts of the Amazon, where he recorded Shipibo singer Herlinda Flores, featured in the documentary The Woven Songs of the Amazon. He wrote music for Britt Marling’s version of the Disney Classic, “The Little Mermaid” which starred academy award winner Jodie Foster and Dax Shepherd.
